Hephaistos Text is a springboard for free, open, and collaborative scholarship in the discipline of classics. Acting as a hub to multiple projects, this website acts as a host for forward-looking scholarship. There are currently four projects, with more in the pipeline. The Community Forums offer forums dedicated to each project. - Open Source Classics: Open Source Classics is a directory and how-to guide for free and open source programs and resources useful to classicists, as well as a place for musings about the relationship of scholarship to free and open source principles.
- Libanius Translation Project: The Libanius Translation Project is a collective effort to translate the entirety of Libanius of Antioch's corpus into English, beginning with the Declamations.
- Working Papers: Hephaistos Text Working papers is a venue for the dissemination of works-in-progress and the public discussion of these works.
- The Universal Ancient Botanical: The Universal Ancient Botanical will be a wiki-based catalog that documents the use of herbs in ancient world. Beginning with Greco-Roman antiquity, the project will expand into other regions, including Egypt, Near East, India, and China.
